Lois Lowry

Lois Lowry was born on March 20, 1937. She is a very well known american author for children's literature. Most of her book involve contraversial or fantasful subjects. Lowry first became popular for a novel entitled Number the Stars. HOwever the novel she is must famous for, and the one most well known from her writings is the Giver. Both of her novels on Newbery Medals. She has other famous pieces of works that include the Anastasia Series, the Sams series, and the Tates series. All of her works are written in a different way. Some comedies, some contraversial, some somber. Lowry does a good job mixing it up, making sure her works meet the standards for anyone who would like to read them. In our english class we are assigned to read the Giver, Lowry most contraversial novel about an alternative perfect world. I remember it was a reading assignment in the 7th grade and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading it again.
