The Hobbit

Today in class we discussed the Hobbit, written by J.R.R Tolkien. We mentioned how lovely the opening to this novel was, how instead of describing Bilbo's character through description and adjectives, Bilbo is intially described through his hobbit hole. Bilbo Baggins is chosen by the mighty Gandulf to serve on an adventure as a "burglar". Bilbo's character is depicted as a hero and can easily be identified with by young children, thus making it a great fantasy.
Tolkein is the writer of all the "Lord of The Rings" novels, and published the Hobbit in 1937. Tolkien is a great intellectual as well as writer, for in all his novels their is a specific language used by at least one of the races. Tolkien, being so brilliant was the creater of the magnificent languages, and they can be easily understood by some people in the world today.
The Hobbit is a great adventure and can easily let our imaginations soar.
