The wonderful tale of Alice's adventures in Wonderland was written by Lewis Carroll, original name Rev. Charles lutwidge dodgson. In this peculiar novel, a young girl by the name of Alice falls down a rabbitt hole into a world that is of complete nonsense. This fairytale is well known all across the world, and has also been made into a disney movie.
Lewis Carroll's good family friend George MacDonald was one of the first to advice and critique his novel. Right away, MacDonald loved it and thought it was best to publish it. Lewis Carroll had writted after a real person, Alice Liddell. His overwhelming popularity swarmed after the book had been published and fans got a hold of it. It was a novel in which people could escape and travel beyound the unknowing. A few years later Lewis Carroll decided to write a sequal to his big achievement, this being called Through the Looking Glass. OF course this was written in his darker years and was not nearly as famous as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Lewis Carroll had an amazing break through with children's literature and will forever be remembered for his outstanding novels.
