Just a Day Dream - By Mercer Mayer

Just a Dream, by Mercer Mayer is a book within the Little Critter's Series. This book is a perfect example how children's books relay a moral lesson to children through script. In this particular novel, Little Critter, as well as other children, is being bosses around and pushed around by a neighborhood bully. Little Critter doesn't know what to do about it, he does not like being bullied. Little Critter has a dream that if he were a super hero, then he could save everyone from the bully and make the bully be nice. He would be the strongest most powerful critter around! Too bad Little Critter relized it was dream. However, at the end of the story Little Critter is confronted by the bully, and the bully is a changed person and apologizes.
This story is a great example about how bullying is a prominant problem, and how children can handle bullies. Either by confronting them, sticking up to them, or even befriending them. Mercer Mayer does a good job portraying Little Critter against the bully.
