Disney Movies and Tatar
After reading some of the Tatar versions of fairtytales, I have noticed that the disney movies don't portray all the right aspects of these folktales. Sure most of the movies pick up traits from the Tatar fairytales, but lack certain flare. If I had not read the "catskin" versions of Cinderella found in Tatar I most likely would have lived my whole life not knowing they existed. It's sad too, because I enjoyed reading those versions better than the classic version we know made from Disney. Disney movies did a good job making these magical tales appropriate for children. I just believe that they should have had some variety, making different versions such as the ones found in Tatar. After reading the different Snow Whites, Red Riding Hoods, Hansel and Gretel, and Cinderella, I have a greater appreciation for the versions less known. I enjoyed reading those more, they let you use your imagination to a greater extent. I wish Disney produced a greater range of fairtytales, and created the other versions as motion pictures.
